Child Health And Disability Prevention Program

The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) program is a preventive, well-child screening program for low-income children under age 21. It encompasses the requirements of the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) program and the Prenatal Guidance program. The purpose of the CHDP program is to prevent childhood disability by screening children during critical times of growth and development and making referrals necessary to improve their health.
