Mandatory Data Sharing Agreement

The State of California established the California Health and Human Services (CalHHS) Data Exchange Framework (DxF) to support the electronic exchange of health and social services information across the state.

Entities listed below are required to sign a data sharing agreement (DSA).

Participating required to sign a DSA include:

  • General acute care hospitals.
  • Physician organizations and medical groups.
  • Skilled nursing facilities.
  • Clinical laboratories.
  • Acute psychiatric hospitals.
  • Physician practices with fewer than 25 physicians.
  • Rehabilitation hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals, critical access hospitals, and rural general acute care hospitals with fewer than 100 acute care beds.
  • State-run acute psychiatric hospitals.
  • Nonprofit clinics with fewer than 10 health care providers.

The Plan may implement a corrective action plan if the agreement is not signed.
