26-1099 Health Net to Exit California Commercial Group Business Starting February 28, 2027
Date: 09/04/26
What this means for providers today and what to expect next
Health Net has made the decision to discontinue offering Commercial Group health plans in California, starting February 28, 2027. Coverage will not end for all employer groups on that date. Some employer groups will retain coverage for longer periods. This phased approach means coverage end dates will vary based on each employer group’s contract.
This decision does not affect Health Net's Medi-Cal and Medicare lines of business or Ambetter (Individual & Family Plans offered on and off the Covered California health benefits exchange).
Employer groups were notified of this decision on September 1, 2026, and are responsible for notifying their employees.
