Training overview
To support equitable, culturally responsive care, all physicians, health care providers, staff, subcontractors and downstream subcontractors must complete the Cultural Humility, Competency, and Equity in Healthcare training.1
This requirement aligns with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) All Plan Letter (APL) 24-016 (PDF), contractual obligations and NCQA2 Health Equity Accreditation standards.
Training availability
The training will be available starting August 31, 2025.
Who must complete the training and when?
- New hires: Within 90 days of start date
- Existing providers: Annually by December 31, 2025, and by December 31 each calendar year
Note for Medi-Cal providers: You only need to complete the training through one health plan, even if notified by multiple plans.
Compliance requirements by line of business
Requirements for each line of business include:
- Medi-Cal: DHCS APL 24-016, the Plan’s contract, NCQA Health Equity Accreditation
- Commercial and Medicare: the Plan’s contract, NCQA Health Equity Accreditation
Ongoing compliance responsibilities
Participating physician groups, physicians, other providers and affiliated organizations must:
- Ensure all direct patient care providers complete the training
- Track completion and collect attestations for group/on-site sessions
- Maintain records for audits and compliance verification
How to complete the training and submit attestation
- If you have access to Health Net’s Relias platform:
- Visit Relias to access the course called “Cultural Humility, Competency and Equity in Healthcare.”
- Complete the training and submit your attestation through the platform.
- If you do not have Relias access:
- Access the training at Cultural Humility Competency and Equity in Healthcare 2025.
- Submit your attestation through the same link.
- Submit an attestation from another plan’s training
- If you completed the training with another health plan you may submit an attestation at Cultural Humility Competency and Equity in Healthcare 2025.
- Completion of the training will be shared across all plans.
