25-448 Urgent Notice: Planned Strike at L.A. County Department of Health Services

Guidance for providers to ensure uninterrupted patient care
Effective Monday, April 28, 2025, at 7 p.m. through Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 6:59 p.m., employees of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (LADHS) are planning to strike. This action may impact Health Net* members who are currently receiving inpatient care at the LA County hospitals listed below.
We have been directed by the LADHS to inform you of the necessary actions you must take to ensure the continued safety and uninterrupted patient care of our Health Net members.
If you have Health Net members currently admitted for inpatient services at an LA County hospital, you must contact the LADHS immediately at the contact information provided below to determine if the transition of affected patients is required and, if medically appropriate, to transition such patients promptly to one of the following based on their individual health care needs:
- Another hospital system
- Skilled nursing facility
- Lower level of care, as medically appropriate
- Discharge home, as medically appropriate
This process of transitioning to another facility or lower level of care, if medically appropriate, is essential to ensure uninterrupted patient care during the strike, as well as to maintain the highest standard of health outcomes and safety for our Health Net members.
