Health Net, on behalf of Community Health Plan of Imperial Valley, encourages hospitals to leverage expert-led programs and analytics-based tools to drive measurable improvements in patient safety. Focus areas include:

  • Cal Hospital Compare’s Honor Rolls for Patient Safety and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Care

Programs and tools to accelerate patient safety performance

Eligible hospitals receive customized support through HSAG’s QIN-QIO Program – The Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) leads the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-funded Quality Innovation Network–Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) program in California and other western states.

  • Opportunities:
    • ­Tailored, data-driven support from HSAG’s expert team.
    • ­Focus on improving high-impact quality outcomes. Identify sustainable, manageable approaches.

Leverage HQI’s data analytics featured on its Hospital Quality Improvement Platform

The Hospital Quality Institute offers easy-to-use dashboards and analytics to help hospitals monitor patient safety performance. Compare trends within your own facility and across hospitals.

Recognition and visibility for high-performing hospitals

Promote high performance on your Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a consumer-friendly composite of patient safety metrics.

  • Action steps:
  1. Review your current grade and survey results.
  2. Identify opportunities for improvement. Make sure you participate in Leapfrog’s Annual Survey.
  3. Promote your grade in your community and online.

Showcase your Cal Hospital Honor Roll recognition

Hospitals recognized for excellence in patient safety or SUD care can showcase their achievements to staff and within the community to build trust and support.

  • Key points:
    • SUD Honor Roll requires submission of a self-assessment to be eligible.
    • Honor Roll recognition can enhance public confidence and staff engagement.
