Programs and tools to accelerate patient safety performance

Eligible hospitals receive customized support through HSAG’s QIN-QIO Program – The Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) leads the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-funded Quality Innovation Network–Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) program in California and other western states.

    • Tailored, data-driven support from HSAG’s expert team.
    • Focus on improving high-impact quality outcomes. Identify sustainable, manageable approaches.

Leverage HQI’s data analytics featured on its Hospital Quality Improvement Platform

The Hospital Quality Institute offers easy-to-use dashboards and analytics to help hospitals monitor patient safety performance. Compare trends within your own facility and across hospitals.

In L.A. County: Join regional collaborative to improve infection prevention

Hospitals in Los Angeles County can connect with neighboring health care sites to improve local communication about infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship.

  • Program highlights:
    • Quarterly meetings convened by region within the County (17 regions total) include hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and dialysis clinics.
    • Opportunities for data sharing and best practice exchange.
    • Led by L.A. County Department of Public Health and cities of Long Beach and Pasadena.

Promote high performance on your Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a consumer-friendly composite of patient safety metrics.

  1. Review your current grade and survey results.

  3. Promote your grade in your community and online.

Showcase your Cal Hospital Honor Roll recognition

Hospitals recognized for excellence in patient safety or SUD care can showcase their achievements to staff and within the community to build trust and support.

    • SUD Honor Roll requires submission of a self-assessment to be eligible.
    • Honor Roll recognition can enhance public confidence and staff engagement.
