24-940 Update: Medicare Secondary Claims Now Received Automatically from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

Read on to learn how this change impacts secondary claims payments for members who are dually eligible for Medi-Cal and Medicare

On  December 28, 2023, Health Net communicated the following on provider update 23-1510: Starting January 1, 2024, submit claims to Health Net for secondary payment with a copy of the Medicare EOB for dual eligible members.

Effective October 1, 2024, physicians and other providers in Imperial County are no longer required to submit secondary Medicare claims for dual eligible members directly to Health Net for payment. Health Net now receives secondary claims from CMS automatically.
