24-208 Introducing Mahmee - Wraparound Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

Inform eligible Medi-Cal members that registering for Mahmee offers personalized support from a dedicated care team, including doulas, at no cost to them
Health Net has partnered with Mahmee to offer all eligible Medi-Cal members greater access to a range of maternal health services and support tools at no added cost to the member. The goal is to enrich patient care with personalized, multidisciplinary support and enhance patient outcomes through proactive monitoring, education and personalized care plans. Physicians and their staff also benefit from a reduction in administrative and care coordination efforts.
Enroll in a virtual doula service
From conception to one year postpartum, eligible patients who enroll in the all-inclusive plan will receive in-person and virtual support through the Mahmee app, offering:
- Registered nurses – remote patient monitoring, high-risk pregnancy support, and childbirth and newborn education.
- Lactation consultants – infant feeding care.
- Doula care – in-person and virtual bedside support during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum which includes support for stillbirth, abortion or miscarriage.
- Mental health coaching.
- Nutrition coaching.
- Care coordination – includes screening for social determinants of health.
Get extra care for high-risk pregnancies
Mahmee's team of registered nurses will flag and escalate high risk pregnancies to the designated practice or care facility so the patient receives additional attention. Mahmee documents all patient contact and activity in Mahmee's electronic health record which physicians can access, ensuring effective care coordination.
Steps to register
Eligible Medi-Cal members can register at no cost to them using the instructions below.
First method – Go to mahmee website.
- Click “Check My Eligibility” on the upper right hand corner.
- Fill out a short form with personal information including member’s Health Net identification number to receive automatic confirmation of eligibility and details on to the services available to you.
- Member agrees to Mahmee’s privacy policy and terms by checking the box and click on ‘Start Membership.’
After eligibility is confirmed, their membership is active.
Second method
Call 818-431-1118 and speak to a Mahmee representative who will help the member sign up after confirming eligibility.
