23-902 Help Members Learn How to Access Care with Teladoc

Date: 08/10/23

When a PCP isn’t available, members can use Teladoc for virtual care

Effective August 10, 2023, Health Net will transition from telehealth vendor Babylon® to Teladoc Health (Teladoc®) for all Commercial and Medi-Cal members.

Improved access to care

Patients rely on getting an appointment with their primary care physician (PCP) for proactive wellness, condition management and care. However, if a member cannot get an appointment with their PCP for immediate care, Teladoc can provide an option to get same-day health care services via a virtual visit. By serving as an alternative on weekends and after hours, Teladoc can also potentially help members avoid unnecessary emergency room and urgent care visits.

Teladoc services are available to offer access to care even when a member is traveling out of state within United States.1

Watch for new ID cards

Health Net will send members an updated identification (ID) card by January 1, 2024, or upon the member’s request. Members on certain Commercial plans will receive new ID cards in September 2023. The new ID card will reflect the change in select telehealth services provider to Teladoc.
