23-483 Health Net, on Behalf of CalViva Health, Renews Long-Standing Agreement With Community Medical Centers

Continue to refer CalViva Health Medi-Cal members to Community Medical Centers or affiliates for non-emergency services.
On January 1, 2023, Health Net*, on behalf of CalViva Health, renewed a long-term agreement with Community Medical Centers. The partnership allows CalViva Health Medi-Cal members to continue to access critical services available from this large hospital system.
Enhanced access to care for CalViva Health Medi-Cal members
Patients who have chosen CalViva Health as their Medi-Cal plan continue to have full access to all Community Medical Centers’ facilities. Community Medical Centers has a network of available facilities, including three acute care hospitals, behavioral health, outpatient specialty and ancillary services that care for CalViva Health Medi-Cal members.
As of January 1, 2023, Community Medical Centers terminated their agreement with the other Medi-Cal health plan. As a result, only CalViva Health members are able to seek non-emergency services from any Community Medical Center facility or affiliated facility.

Benefits for physicians and other providers
Physicians and other providers, including those who lack alternate privileges at other facilities, will continue to refer CalViva Health Medi-Cal members to obtain services from Community Medical Centers and its affiliated facilities.
Benefits to CalViva Health Medi-Cal members
Physicians and other providers are encouraged to educate CalViva Health Medi-Cal members about available facilities, so that they know they can continue to access Community Medical Centers and facilities.
