23-291m Access Updated List of NCI/NCORP Contracted Cancer Centers

Date: 03/30/23

Go to the Provider Library to view the current listing

The list of National Cancer Institute (NCI) and NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) designated cancer centers shared in provider update 23-026, Help Medi-Cal Members With Complex Cancer Access Critical Care, distributed on January 3, 2023, has been updated.

Referrals for treatment

When referring a member for hard-to-treat cancer, make sure you have the most current information. The list of NCI and NCORP contracted entities has been updated by adding more centers. It is available in the Provider Library.

If Health Net is unsuccessful with referring a member diagnosed with a complex cancer to an NCI/NCORP cancer center, then Health Net shall allow a member to request a referral to receive medically necessary services through a local network cancer treatment center or an out-of-network facility, unless the member chooses an in-network provider outside of the county.

Where to find the list

The information is for contracted cancer centers. It is not all-inclusive and may be subject to change. You can find it one of two ways:

  • Click on Contracted Cancer Centers (PDF). This takes you directly to Medi-Cal in the Provider Library where you can select the list under Forms and References.

Or,

  • Go to the Provider Manual under Med-Cal. Select Utilization Management > Care Management > Complex Cancer Care > Contracted Cancer Center.
