The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) offers the Enhanced Care Management for Children and Youth Spotlight to help contracted and prospective Enhanced Care Management (ECM) providers serving children and youth develop and enhance their ECM models. It is also intended to support provider organizations that are considering whether ECM for children and youth is right for them.
This is the first in a series of ECM Spotlights that DHCS plans to release over the coming months to support those looking for more detail on how providers tailor ECM to meet the needs of different Populations of Focus (POFs).
What is in the Spotlight?
You will find the below information in the Spotlight:
- A summary of key ECM policies for the Children and Youth POF, including eligibility, accessing ECM benefits and how a child or youth is matched with an ECM provider.
- Stories of how ECM might support two Medi-Cal members, with examples of how Community Supports can be integrated to best serve children, youth and caregivers.
- Prospective providers can get guidance on how to start contracting with managed care plans as an ECM provider, along with ECM resources and funding opportunities.
The Spotlight is available on the DHCS ECM and Community Supports webpage at Enhanced Care Management for Children and Youth (PDF).
