23-1244 Important Change: Starting January 1, 2024, Administration of Behavioral Health Services Will Transition from MHN to Health Net
Date: 10/24/23
Beginning January 1, 2024, behavioral health services will no longer be administered by MHN, Health Net's behavioral health administrator. Instead, these services will be arranged by Health Net. Members will not experience any changes to their behavioral health benefits as a result of this change.
Member notifications and new ID cards
Affected members will begin receiving notification letters starting in November 2023 regarding this change.
As part of the annual member ID re-carding process, members will receive new member ID cards that include updated contact information for behavioral health services. The new ID cards will not reference MHN.
Refer members to Health Net for behavioral health services
Starting January 1, 2024, physicians and other providers must refer members to Health Net for behavioral health services by calling 844-966-0298.
Keep an eye out for future communications
Health Net will notify you of any other operational and administrative plan changes that result from this transition as needed. If you are contracted with both Health Net and MHN to provide behavioral health services, you will receive a separate communication from MHN at a later date. This communication will provide additional details about other operational changes that might impact you.
