The Fresno Madera Medical Society (FMMS) and partners are holding this virtual event to:

  • Discuss how substance use during pregnancy can be a barrier to prenatal care.
  • Explain the affect drugs can have on fetal development.
  • Describe what treatment works best for pregnant and parenting individuals.
  • Identify the common challenges for people in addiction recovery.
  • Recognize the effects of substance abuse on overall maternal health.
  • Identify local resources available for management and treatment of substance use disorder in pregnancy.
