21-420 Prior Authorization Extensions Ending

For Medi-Cal, this information applies to Kern, Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tulare counties.
On August 19, 2021, prior authorizations are valid three months after approval
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Health Net extended prior authorization (PA) requests from a three-month time span to a six-month time span. This allowed Health Net members the ability to schedule services when providers and facilities may have had limited capacities.
Starting August 19, 2021, all PAs will return to a three-month time span. We will continue to honor current PAs with the extended time until the expiration date.
