Learn about risk and protective factors for adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and ways to help prevent them

ACEs and toxic stress represent a public health crisis that has been largely unrecognized by state health care systems and society. A consensus of scientific research demonstrates that cumulative adversity, especially when experienced during critical and sensitive periods of development, is a root cause to some of the most harmful, persistent, and expensive health challenges facing our state and nation. The impacts of ACEs and toxic stress are treatable. You can take action now to change and save lives.

ACEs Aware Kings County Collaboration

Kings Partnership for Prevention (KPFP) is offering the ACEs Aware Initiative Program to help change and save lives by helping Medi-Cal providers understand the importance of screening for ACEs and training to respond with trauma-informed care. Each month a collaboration session will be held for Network of Care and Peer to Peer participants, who will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and gain access to social and community resources.

The monthly collaboration sessions are available to Medi-Cal providers from Kings County and the greater Central Valley. We encourage providers of all type to register and participate in this community collaboration. For more information go to the KPFP website.
